To reliably measure the rotation speed of a shaft or a disc in machinery like engines, use this reflective tape from Testo. It's designed for use with non-contact tachometers for measuring speeds at a distance. For accurate readings, simply attach the tape to the surface of the motor and point the tachometer at it so the light remains fixed. Thanks to the self-adhesive underside, it'll stick readily to a wide variety of surfaces. You can also use this tape to mark pipes conveying sensitive substances for a safer work environment.

Where should I use non-contact tachometers?
As they don't require direct contact with an object, non-contact tachometers are typically used to measure rotational speeds in hard-to-reach equipment or hazardous places.

The Health & Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations place great emphasis on the labelling of pipework.
