Cobi Klocki Trabant 601 Deluxe

The 1:35 scale model consists of 72 COBI construction blocks and very faithfully reproduces the characteristic shape of the original Trabant 601. The car was also developed in the new light blue color of blocks, even closer to the iconic original! The car has rotating wheels with tires that are perfect for moving the model during playtime. Additionally, we have given up on stickers in our sets, they have been replaced with durable prints that do not wear off even during intense play.

Trabant is a brand of passenger cars produced in the GDR at the VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke plant in Zwickau. The 601 Model debuted on the market in 1964 and was produced until 1990. The De Luxe version was developed in 1967. Trabant cars featured several technically interesting solutions. These included a body made of a plastic material called Duroplast. It has a melting point similar to that of aluminum and increased the car's resistance to corrosion and crushing. Other noteworthy solutions include a small two-stroke engine, large windows and a relatively spacious interior. The car reached a dizzying speed, slightly exceeding 100km/h.

The Trabant deserved to be called a cult car from the German Democratic Republic. To this day it remains an instantly recognizable and extremely popular classic among motoring enthusiasts. It has also become a permanent part of popular culture.
