Victron Cyrix-ct 12/24V-120A

The Cyrix battery disconnect switch is a microprocessor-controlled power relay that automatically connects batteries in parallel when one battery has reached a preset voltage (indicating that the battery is charging) and disconnects batteries when the voltage drops below the maintenance (float) voltage (indicating that one or more batteries are discharged). Cyrix battery isolators are a good replacement for Argo Diodes. Their main advantage is that they show virtually no voltage drop, and therefore the output voltage of alternator or battery chargers does not need to be increased.



The standard Cyrix-ct (CT version) is designed for lead-acid battery systems.



The Cyrix-ct intelligent battery jumper controls the charging and disconnecting of the starter and service batteries. If a voltage of 13.0 V (26 V) is reached on one of the batteries for 10 minutes or 13.8 V (27.6 V) for 4 seconds, Cyrix-ct interconnects the batteries and charges both batteries simultaneously to a fully charged state. When the voltage on either battery drops below 12.8 V (25.6 V) for 10 minutes or 11.8 V (23.6 V) for 4 seconds, the batteries are disconnected from each other. This connection and disconnection works bidirectionally. Batteries may be of different capacities, types and designs. Each battery is assumed to power its own appliances.



The Cyrix-ct model is equipped with thermal protection (e.g. due to prolonged overload or high ambient temperature). The Cyrix disconnects in case of excessive contact temperature and switches back on after cooling down.





Parallel connection in case of emergency (Start Assist)

The Cyrix can also be plugged in using a push button (Cyrix stays plugged in for 30 seconds) or a switch to connect the batteries manually (in parallel). This is especially useful in an emergency when the starter battery is dead or damaged.
