When AC/DC was founded in 1973, brothers Angus and Malcolm Young were inspired to come up with the name by seeing the letters AC/DC on their sister's sewing machine. As for the logo, it was designed by Bob Defrin, artistic director of Atlantic Records, and the famous graphic designer Gerard Huerta. The logo was unveiled to coincide with the release of the international edition of their fourth studio album, 'Let There Be Rock'. The logo's gothic lettering was inspired by a font taken from the Gutenberg Bible, chosen by Huerta to reinforce the biblical atmosphere that permeates the album.
