Fox McCloud and his crew are back in Star Fox, a remake of the Nintendo 64 classic Lylat Wars, now exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2. Buckle up and prepare for intense aerial combat as you reclaim the Lylat System from Andross, one planet at a time!

The mad scientist Andross is attempting to seize control of the Lylat star system, and only Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team stand in his way. Pilot your Arwing across the system while battling enemy forces and performing thrilling aerial maneuvers such as somersaults to shake pursuers off your tail. Discover alternate routes through the Lylat System across multiple playthroughs, taking on new missions and unique challenges along the way. You can also team up with friends in the brand-new 4-vs-4 multiplayer battle mode.

Star Fox is a cinematic reimagining of Lylat Wars featuring redesigned characters, refreshed visuals for every stage, detailed cutscenes, fully voiced dialogue, and an epic orchestral soundtrack. The game also introduces Joy-Con 2 mouse controls and an all-new GameChat feature that places you directly in the cockpit alongside your favorite characters from the Star Fox universe.

A Modernized Adventure

Based on Lylat Wars, Star Fox delivers a complete visual overhaul that fully utilizes the power and performance of Nintendo Switch 2. Explore countless planets and the depths of a nebula within the Lylat System, from the bustling world of Corneria to the desolate, polluted oceans of Zoness. The game also features entirely new cinematic cutscenes with full voice acting and never-before-seen mission briefings between stages, allowing you to learn even more about the characters and worlds that make up the Star Fox universe.

Intense Space Combat

Jump into your Arwing, a high-performance space fighter, and unleash laser blasts to defeat enemy forces. You can also brake mid-air to shake enemies, activate boosts for extra speed, perform somersaults, and execute barrel rolls to defend yourself from incoming attacks.

New and Returning Game Modes

Star Fox includes a variety of gameplay features, including:

Campaign Mode: Travel across a wide range of planets, navigate asteroid fields, and engage in free-flight aerial battles. Choose between Easy or Normal difficulty at the start and sharpen your skills to earn all the medals required to unlock Expert mode. The objectives you complete, enemies you defeat, and actions you take can alter your route and change what happens in each stage. Taking different paths can also affect the stages you encounter throughout the system, giving you plenty of reasons to revisit every mission.

Challenge Mode: Replay completed stages and tackle a variety of new objectives and challenges, some of which are not available in Campaign Mode. Challenges are available in both Normal and Expert difficulty levels.

Battle Mode: Gather your team and compete in all-new 4-vs-4 aerial battles with up to eight players split between Team Star Fox and Team Star Wolf. This mode includes three maps with different objectives: capture control zones on Corneria, collect energy crystals on Fichina, or retrieve cargo from space pirates in Sector Y. Join online team battles through private matches or face players from around the world. With Gameshare, up to four players can fly together locally or online through GameChat. While online GameShare is only available for Nintendo Switch 2 systems, local GameShare allows compatible games to be shared with both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch consoles.

Additional Nintendo Switch 2 Features

Joy-Con 2 Mouse Controls: When playing solo in Campaign Mode and/or Challenge Mode, you can easily switch between button controls and mouse controls using the Joy-Con 2 controller. Mouse controls allow for more intuitive aiming, and if a friend joins either on the same console or through GameShare via GameChat, they can take over gunner duties while you focus on flying — or vice versa.

GameChat Character Avatars and AR Accessories: Appear as Fox McCloud or any member of his crew while chatting with friends using an interactive avatar that mirrors your expressions and movements in GameChat. With the game’s AR accessories, you can even add Star Fox-style ears or a Falco-inspired beak that moves when you speak.
