A smart wide-field telescope that automatically points, shoots, and processes photos without any user intervention. Large nebulae, star fields, and terrestrial scenes appear right on your smartphone screen

Kelvin: Optics for smartphones. Focus on What Matters!

Kelvin: Optics for smartphones. Focus on What Matters!

This digital project blurs the lines between the convenience of mobile photography and the power of professional optics.

Colorful astro images come from stacking dozens of frames, a task that is usually done manually on a computer. The Levenhuk Kelvin Bright STR90 Smart Telescope handles everything by itself. It tracks the object, captures a series of shots, and stacks them into a single image on the fly. You just watch as gas clouds and star fields grow brighter on your smartphone display. Get finished, colorful photos of space with no experience or post-processing required, all on your very first evening.

Observe and capture images simultaneously

While the guidescope and its astronomy camera lock onto the target and gather light for the perfect shot, you can enjoy the same patch of sky in real time through the eyepiece. Want a detailed planetary image? Just move the camera to the main tube, and a close-up is ready.

By day, the smart telescope transforms into a spotting scope for birdwatching, ship watching, or observing wildlife. The target is easy to find and follow, and the image streams straight to your smartphone, allowing you to shoot and share with friends right away.

The wide-field champion of the series

The STR90 is the only refractor in the Levenhuk Kelvin Bright series and its widest-field model. The fast, short-focal-length tube covers a large sky area, so large objects that don't fit into the field of long-focal-length telescopes appear in their entirety: the Orion Nebula, the Andromeda Galaxy with its satellites, and the Pleiades cluster.

Use your smartphone instead of a hand controller and computer

Control everything from your smartphone. Select a target from the database of 100,000 objects in the app, and the smart mount aligns itself using its compass and GPS. Unlike the approximate pointing of classic GoTo systems, this is precise: The electronics keep adjusting until the object is perfectly centered in the frame.
Images are sent to your smartphone via dual-band Wi-Fi, and the internal memory stores around 8,000 frames, which is enough for a whole season of observations without a laptop. The sturdy steel tripod minimizes vibrations, preserving sharpness during long exposures. When you want to take astrophotography more seriously, the camera supports professional software, so you can grow without upgrading your gear.

Key features:

  • Fast wide-field refractor allows large nebulae, galaxies, and clusters to fit entirely in the frame

  • Simultaneous visual observing and astrophotography lets you watch through the eyepiece while the camera captures the same object

  • Live stacking technology means colorful images of space take shape on your smartphone during the shoot without the need for a computer

  • One-tap pointing to 100,000 objects in the catalog features GPS-based alignment and precise target tracking

  • Free mobile app, fast dual-band Wi-Fi, and memory for 8,000 images

  • The best model in the series for daytime use offers a wide field for observing birds, ships, and animals with live streaming to your smartphone

  • The horizontal mirror image is not an issue for astronomy, and during daytime use, only text appears reversed
