Bei dem n-Kanal-JFET (junction FET) wird der Strom durch der Source Drain Strecke durch die Spannung am Gate gesteuert. Beim n-Kanal-JFET ist dies eine negative Spannung. Wird die Spannung positiv fließt ein Strom durch die Gate-Source Diodenstrecke. Ohne Spannung leitet der n-JFET, bei einer negativen Spannung beginnt er zu sperren.
