Performance and Availability
• Double-conversion topology. The Eaton 9SX continuously monitors
the quality of the input power and regulates the voltage and frequency
at the output.
• An internal bypass ensures uninterrupted operation even in the event of an internal
failure. A maintenance bypass is optionally available for easy
replacement of the UPS without shutting down the protected load.
• With a power factor of 0.9, the Eaton 9SX delivers 28% more power than other
UPS systems in this class. It can power more servers than other UPS
systems with equivalent VA capacity and a lower power factor.
• Batteries with higher capacity and longer service life: Eaton’s
ABM® battery management technology uses an innovative three-stage
charging method that extends battery life by up to 50%.
The Eaton 9SX also provides a recommended battery replacement date.
Usability
• The new graphical LCD display provides clear information about the
UPS status and measured parameters on a single screen. The display
can also be used to perform advanced UPS configuration.
• The Eaton 9SX can measure power consumption, which
can be monitored via the LCD or remotely using Eaton’s
Intelligent Power® software.
• Outlet zone control allows for prioritizing
shutdown of non-critical loads and maximizes backup time for
critical loads.
• The Eaton 9SX offers serial and USB communication and a slot for an optional
communication card. Eaton’s Intelligent Power® software
seamlessly integrates with leading virtualization
environments and automated cloud management tools.

Tower model is similar in size to a modern compact computer.
• Longer backup time can be achieved with up to 4 external battery
modules, which can be added during operation and can, if
necessary, protect systems for several hours. The battery
modules are automatically recognized by the UPS.
