November 15, 2010—EDIMAX Technology introduces the EK-2U2CA, a 2-port USB KVM switch with cables and audio support.
The EK-2U2CA is a compact KVM switch designed specifically for individuals and SOHO users who have to manage two computers in a limited workspace. With audio support and two combo cables, the EK-2U2CA allows users to access, control, boot, and reboot two computers with a single USB keyboard, a USB mouse, a monitor, a microphone, and a pair of speakers. Users can choose to toggle between the two computers either with the QuickSwitch button, with hotkeys, or with the KVM Switcher software. Capable of audio and microphone switching, the EK-2U2CA allows for a truly seamless multimedia experience.
Audio support for a truly seamless multimedia experience
Unlike most KVM switches on the market, the EK-2U2CA is designed with audio support, which allows users to use a microphone and a pair of speakers with two computers. Users can choose to set the microphone and speakers to switch between the two computers (along with the keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or fix the audio devices to just one computer. Fixing the audio devices to one computer allows users to work with two computers, while listening to music without interruption.
Quick and easy KVM switching
The EK-2U2CA has a built-in QuickSwitch button, a wired remote control that allows users to perform KVM switching with a simple click of a button. The QuickSwitch button’s wire is 90 centimeters in length, which gives users the flexibility of placing it wherever it is most convenient.
Users can also toggle between the computers with the universal hotkey sequence, the user-definable hotkey sequence, or the KVM Switcher software. The universal hotkey sequence supports many OS platforms, like Windows and Linux; and users can customize the user-definable hotkey sequence according to their needs with the KVM Switcher software.
