Not just a temperature display
At first glance, the GoGEN ME3900 weather station impresses with its clear, colour LCD display. It makes it easy to find out the current weather status. Thanks to the special outdoor sensor, the amount of information is really wide:
- Rain sensor - calculates the amount of precipitation in mm per hour/24 hours
- Wind speed and wind direction meter - wind speed is given in mm/sec.
- UV and sunshine intensity meter - useful especially in the summer months
- Indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity - in combination with the wind speed and direction meter, a so-called Wind Chill value, or sensible temperature, is also available. This is particularly telling and useful in winter.
The weather station, which is online
The list of useful functions does not end with the values that the weather station measures. The GoGEN ME3900 professional weather station has the option of connecting to a home WiFi network. Thanks to this feature, you get the possibility to access the current weather conditions online. You can also share measured data to weather servers and join a large network of weather stations.
One of the mobile apps that offers this possibility is the Czech weather app Weather Meteo, which you can find on Google Play.
In addition to the basic sensor set included in the package, up to 8 additional sensors can be connected to the station, labeled GoGEN ME SENZOR 39, measuring temperature and humidity. Although the measured data from these additional sensors are not displayed on the display of the main unit, they are displayed in the app and also on the weather server website www.ecowitt.net.
Other useful functions
In addition to the functions mentioned above, you will appreciate other practical features of the GoGEN ME3900. You can always display the minima and maxima for the measured weather values. Of course, you can set an alarm, display the current date and moon phases. The weather station is powered from the mains. In case you are satisfied with a lower display illumination intensity, you can also use the power supply with alkaline batteries. The outdoor sensor is powered by alkaline batteries.
