Compact and versatile
The Katadyn Vario water purification filter is incredibly popular because it has a dual pump function for faster clean water.
In addition, Vario offers two filter modes: “Longer Filter Life” or “Faster Filter Flow”. Longer Filter Life” or ‘ Faster Filter Flow’.
The fiberglass filter has a capacity of 2,000 liters, after which it must be changed.
The activated carbon filter has a capacity of 400 liters after which it must be changed.
When the maximum capacity is reached, the filter simply stops working and you know it's time to replace it.
Same thread as Nalgene 1000 ml
Katadyn Vario comes with pre-filter, bottle adapter and case.
If you have a Nalgene wide mouth 1 liter drinking bottle, you can attach the Katadyn Vario on top of the Nalgene bottle. So the purified water flows directly into the drinking bottle.
The Nalgene Cantene and Hydrapak Stash 1 liter have the same thread as the large Nalgene bottles, so they also fit nicely on the Katadyn Vario.
The reason for Katadyn's success can be found in the reliability of the filters, which have proven themselves time and time again to be reliable and of robust quality.

How you can make drinking water out of salt water yourself
Peter gives a little-known tip on how to make drinking water in an emergency.
You can make drinking water from either dirty water or salt water.
Perfect for a small group, the Katadyn Vario is a powerful companion in a small, lightweight package. With it, you can quickly treat up to 2 liters of water per minute with less effort than you dreamed possible thanks to its Dual Piston Technology. Choose between higher 2-liter/minute output or lifespan-extending 1-liter/minute output. A trio of filters scrubs water to confidently purge the bad stuff: Activate a ceramic pre-filter with a quick turn to conquer dirtier water so the durable glass fiber pleated filter inside lasts even longer. Plus, active charcoal gets rid of odors. Together, you get fresh, tasty refreshment you can trust.
